Do I need Node.js or npm to run MarketPro? ▼
No. Zero frontend build step. Bootstrap, Chart.js, and Summernote all load via CDN. Just composer install and you're done.
Is the AI mandatory? What if I don't have an API key? ▼
Not at all. Every AI feature has its own toggle plus a master kill switch. When disabled, every feature falls back gracefully to a non-AI alternative. The platform works identically without any Anthropic key.
Does it work on shared hosting? ▼
Yes. All uploads go to public/uploads/ — no storage:link symlink needed. Works on cPanel, Plesk, or any shared host. Just point your domain to the public/ directory.
How does multi-currency work? ▼
Prices are stored in your base currency (e.g. USD). When a customer switches currency, amounts are converted in real-time using configurable exchange rates stored in the database. Actual payment is always processed in base currency.
How does the vendor payout system work? ▼
Vendors earn a configurable commission rate per sale. Their balance accumulates in their account. They submit withdrawal requests (bank/PayPal). Admin reviews and marks as paid — the vendor is notified by email automatically.
Is auto-translation really free? No Google Cloud account needed? ▼
Correct. Auto-translation uses the stichoza/google-translate-php package which uses the free Google Translate web endpoint. No API key, no billing account required. For high-volume use, you can optionally upgrade to the paid Google Cloud Translation API.
